4 For Vets November 11, 2015 11:02
WNC Advocacy League is excited to announce a new campaign to get support for local veterans from the generous Western North Carolina community. Introducing the 4 For Vets program. In the past, WNCAL has raised funds on a project-to-project basis, which has been successful for the projects involved but doesn’t leave much for day-to-day work and emergency help for our local veterans. The irony is, if everyone who generously supports the big projects with a substantial donation pledge a very small percentage of that donation once a month, most of the ongoing work would be adequately funded... so we have come up with a painless and fun way to support veterans all year round.
The 4 For Vets program allows you to pledge just four dollars a month to help us with transportation costs, emergency food and heating supplies, clothing and other daily needs for our clients. Four dollars.. that’s less than the price of one fast food meal (and you know we should all cut down on those). Not only that, but this will ensure that there is always petty cash available for emergency needs like someone running out of heating oil, an empty fridge or even just simply needing a new pair of shoes for one of our local vets.
Four dollars a month does not seem like much but, if enough people participate, we could have a huge impact on the lives of Western North Carolina veterans.
